Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and remember certain information about your visit, such as your preferences or login status.

2. How We Use Cookies

TrackElf uses cookies for the following purposes:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Service to function properly. They enable core functionality such as:

  • Authentication: We use an httpOnly, secure cookie to maintain your login session. This cookie contains a signed JWT token and cannot be accessed by JavaScript.
  • CSRF protection: We use a cookie to protect against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Preferences: We may use cookies to remember your display preferences and settings.

These cookies are set when you log in or interact with the Service and are essential for its operation. You cannot opt out of essential cookies if you wish to use the Service.

Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website, which pages are most popular, and how we can improve the user experience. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated information and do not identify you personally.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We may use third-party services that set their own cookies:

  • Stripe: Used for payment processing. Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment security.
  • Email delivery services: Used for sending transactional emails and alerts. These services may use tracking pixels to measure email open rates.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies for targeted advertising.

4. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View and delete cookies stored on your device
  • Block cookies from specific websites
  • Block all cookies (note: this may prevent the Service from functioning properly)
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set

Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies, you may not be able to log in or use certain features of the Service.

5. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, TrackElf uses browser localStorage to store your inventory data on the Free plan. This data is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers unless you upgrade to a paid plan with cloud sync. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings, but doing so will delete your locally-stored inventory data.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.

7. Contact Us
