TPD Compliance Checklist for UK Vape Shops

TrackElf Editorial · 20 Sep 2026 · 7 min

The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) remains the core regulatory framework for vape products sold in the UK. Every e-liquid and e-cigarette model must be notified through the MHRA portal before it can be legally sold. Products that are not notified cannot be stocked.

This checklist covers: TPD notification status for every SKU on your shelf, nicotine concentration limits (max 20mg/ml for freebase, 20mg/ml for nic salts), bottle size restrictions (max 10ml for nic salts, 50ml shortfill limit), child-proof packaging requirements, and mandatory age verification for all in-store sales.

TrackElf's Retailer Compliance Checklist, built into the compliance section, allows shop owners to tick off each requirement and track completion status over time.
